Language System

Some facets of normal language development. They are to be known in order to understand the specific difficulties of language acquirement among deaf people.


A.. Like all other children, deaf children produce sounds as part of their total motor activity. 
B. There is a growth in specific language sounds.
C. Hearing becomes listening, anologous to the parallel development of <> into <>. the <> occurs very early in a hearing child. a relationship to the environment is created based on perceiving noises and sounds, especially the human voice. This is called << auditive feedback>>.
Severely deaf children reproduce sounds that are foreign to language. It is an indication for the child's milieu that its hearing is dysfuctional.

D. After the initial <> period follows the development of a language system.
